Overview

Facility Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance tasks and troubleshoots for building systems and equipment. This role involves taking a proactive approach to facility maintenance, including diagnosing complex issues, making repairs, and performing routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The technician may also mentor junior staff and assist in the planning and execution of facility improvement projects.

Key Deliverables
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Manage and monitor tools, equipment, and supplies inventory to ensure availability for maintenance needs.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex facility systems.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience guiding less experienced technicians.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize maintenance needs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and vendors.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or other related fields (e.g., EPA, CFC, or Journeyman certifications).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Previous experience in facility management or a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Technology Requirements
  • Proficiency in computer systems for maintenance, logging, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Experience using facility management software (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and managing work orders.

Other Requirements
