Refrigeration Technician; Peoria

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Service Technician to join our Service department. This position works closely with Service Managers and requires expertise in refrigeration principles, mechanical and electrical systems, and safety regulations to ensure our customers’ equipment operates efficiently and reliably.

A Service Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, & support of industrial refrigeration equipment for our valued customers. A working knowledge of commercial & industrial refrigeration and electrical controls is required.

• Monday – Friday (45–60 hours per week)

• Repair and maintain refrigeration for industrial accounts in food and beverage and refrigerated storage ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment common in industrial applications
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting of ammonia central systems, and control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventive maintenance
• Adhere to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements

• High school graduate or GED; HVAC tech school preferred
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain
• RETA 1 & 2 certification preferred
• Motor alignment experience a plus
• Tobacco‑free workplace; no tobacco products allowed on site
• Pre‑employment drug screening, felony screening, and motor vehicle record screening required; regular drug testing
• Excellent physical condition: climb ladders, wear respirator, work 10‑12 hour days, occasional heavy lifting
• Must be able to wear a respirator and pass fit test
