What You'll Do

As a Youth Care Worker, you'll help create and maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment where youth can learn important life skills and experience personal growth.

You will:

  • Provide supervision and support to youth in accordance with OHU and DCF policies.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach in all interactions.
  • Teach, model, and participate in daily living activities, social skill development, emotional regulation, recreation, and independent living skills.
  • Implement youth treatment goals as outlined in Individual Treatment Plans and the OHU Residential Program Plan.
  • Maintain certification and competency in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and other approved behavior-management strategies.
