Senior Manufacturing Engineer

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop and optimize manufacturing processes and procedures to drive operational excellence. You will leverage your expertise in materials, tooling, and process flow to define build sequences and ensure product quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes for aerospace components using CNC machining and other advanced technologies.
  • Lead process optimization projects to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality while ensuring compliance with aerospace industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions to support production and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to establish and document manufacturing instructions and process flow.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and support troubleshooting of manufacturing challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process FMEAs, control plans, and capability studies.
  • Participate in the selection, installation, and qualification of new CNC machinery and related equipment.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for the aerospace industry.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the aerospace sector, with a strong background in CNC machining.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., CATIA, NX, Solid Works, Mastercam) and experience with CNC programming.
  • Comprehensive understanding of aerospace materials, tolerances, and quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, GD&T, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Preferred Skills
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or equivalent process improvement methodologies.
  • Previous involvement in new product introduction and prototype‑to‑production scaling.
  • Ability to think strategically to find efficient resolutions to complex challenges.

  • Required to sit for long durations.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive hand movements when doing computer work.
  • Occasionally exposed to noise, fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts in production areas.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in noisy environments.
  • Must also have clear, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus and judge depth; color vision is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
