Base Pay Range

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front‑end and pharmacy, ensuring On‑Shelf Availability and accurate planograms.
  • Review and coordinate the use of reports and system applications to maintain accurate front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
  • Implement asset protection techniques for front‑end and pharmacy, filing claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
  • Open and close the store in the absence of store management, handling system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier duties, and ensuring floor and stock room readiness.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving customer issues when acting as leader on duty, and modeling exceptional customer service practices.
  • Coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including order creation, review, and receiving.
  • Scan and validate all deliveries, mark receipts, and contact vendors for undelivered orders or open tickets for inaccuracies.
  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist‑in‑charge, verify pharmacy shipments, post orders, audit accuracy, and report shortages or damages.
  • Complete the On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call‑ins, vendor returns, and scanning tasks.
  • Execute pharmacy inventory activities such as recalls, vendor returns, salvage returns, inter‑store transfers, and verify claims.
  • Perform pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and ensure signage accuracy, as well as regulatory pricing tasks.
  • Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering, order expense items, monitor manual orders, and maintain consigned inventory.
  • Ensure pull & quarantine items are updated and inventory counts remain accurate, complying with state and local regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records, organizing invoices and receipts, and preparing for physical inventory.
  • Sustain clean and merchandised counters and shelves, and stay knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment.
  • Coach staff on package delivery activities, scanning procedures, and the Pickup Program.
  • When acting as leader on duty, register sales on the POS, handle returns, voids, customer refunds, cash drops, and provide change.
  • Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers, and complete any additional tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license or certification as required by state regulations.
Communications
  • Liaise between management and non‑management staff, coaching and developing capabilities, and communicating assigned tasks.
  • Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Basic Qualifications
  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi‑task and manage execution.
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
