JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical Design Engineer will conceptualize, develop, and refine the electrical control systems that support the production and testing of munitions. The role works closely with Design engineers and Electrical Controls engineers to ensure the equipment meets all technical requirements.

• Design, develop, and layout all electrical panels for new and existing equipment. Specify components and ensure they meet safety and electrical requirements.
• Document all new and existing equipment panel layouts, electrical schematics, and pneumatic schematics using AutoCAD Electrical 2024.
• Perform arc‑flash hazard analysis and calculations.
• Design and specify electrical panels and components that meet hazardous location wiring codes.
• Ensure equipment is installed and maintained in conformance with current codes and regulations.
• Recommend improvements to equipment to optimize production and determine corrective actions.
• Serve as primary point of contact for electrical controls troubleshooting.
• Determine preventative maintenance actions and provide documentation to maintenance.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operational groups on preventive maintenance, machine repair, predictive maintenance, equipment performance, and design improvements.
• Maintain employee relations, affirmative action plan, labor laws, and EEOC rules and regulations.
• Follow company safety and environmental standards, housekeeping practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent education and 5 years experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment providing technical support to automated processes.
• Familiarity with PLC/HMI programming (preferably Emerson PAC Machine Edition Version 10).
• Strong knowledge of control and electrical system design for industrial automation, including vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical Version 2024.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Familiar with Cognex vision cameras.
• Ability to create and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot VFDs, servo actuators, and robots.
• Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings.
• Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent.
• Self‑starter who can work independently and manage multiple projects on time.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must submit to and pass a drug test.

• Must be able to communicate written and verbally.
• Must be able to stand/walk/sit for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to travel.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends when needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
