Clinic LPN or RN - Specialty Clinic - FT (Days; no weekends)

• Performs basic nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
• Liaison between the Specialist, their staff and DCH.
• Collects patient data such as vital signs; notes how the patient looks and acts, or responds to stimuli, and reports this information accordingly.
• Prepares and administers injections, performs routine tests, treats wounds, and changes bandages.
• Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
• Administers certain prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples and swabs from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
• Monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
• Conveys information to patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Participates in teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing program or nursing program.
• Must have current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the state licensing board or current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.
• Must have current healthcare provider CPR (Basic Life Support) certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• 1 year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting preferred.
• Mandatory Reporter Training (adult and child) within 3 months of hire.

Ability to operate essential equipment and perform essential procedures in nursing department. Demonstrates knowledge, abilities and skills required to perform a wide variety of nursing functions. Mathematical ability necessary to compute drug dosages accurately. Annual completion of unit specific competencies.

The incumbent must demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the Windows environment as well as ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize, and relay information in meaningful ways using email, word processing, excel, and power point. CPSI knowledge and resource.
