Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a high-tech electronics organization in Perrysburg, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working through the day-to-day mechanics of accounting while helping maintain accurate financial records and a reliable close process. The position offers an opportunity to contribute across several accounting functions and partner with the broader team to keep financial activities running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

- Manage monthly close activities by preparing entries, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions, analyzing balances, and resolving discrepancies across key accounts.

- Complete account and bank reconciliations on a regular basis, investigating variances and following through on outstanding items.

- Oversee fixed asset accounting tasks, including tracking additions, disposals, depreciation, and supporting documentation.

- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to help ensure accurate coding, proper recording, and timely processing of transactions.

- Process weekly payroll information with attention to accuracy, deadlines, and compliance with internal procedures.

- Use Sage accounting software to enter, review, and monitor financial data while assisting with routine accounting workflows.

- Assist with special accounting projects and operational process updates as needed, including work tied to internal system or workflow changes. Requirements - At least 3 years of accounting experience in a role with direct responsibility for day-to-day accounting activities.

- Strong background in month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.

- Experience performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.

- Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and asset tracking.

- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and weekly payroll processing.

- Experience using Sage or comparable accounting software in an accounting environment.

- Strong attention to detail, dependable follow-through, and a willingness to work directly with the details of the accounting function.
