Locate Technician

Overview

Locate Technician at Grid Hawk LLC. Responsible for accurately locating underground facilities and documenting locations to ensure compliance with client and state requirements. Works may be done independently or in a team environment under a supervisor.

• Locate and verify underground facilities and exposed utility locations (telephone, electric, cable, gas, fiber, water, sewer).
• Observe, locate, mark, and document utility locations using multiple methods and tools.
• Work on assigned duties with focus and professional communication with customers, co-employees, and third parties.
• Interact with management, contractors, and utility customers to ensure a damage-free environment.
• Interprets job orders, blueprints, and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
• Perform locates and on-call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Utilize provided technology and tools to complete duties and maintain safety standards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State-issued driver's license.
• Ability to problem solve and read, interpret, and decipher prints.
• Vacuum truck experience (A+ preferred).
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years) and pass a DOT drug test.
• Reliable, with ability to work in a supervised team environment.

  10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, on call; weekends as needed

  Computer skills (1 year preferred);
  Utility Locating (1 year preferred)
