£16.96 per hour | Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

Hewett Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a well-established engineering manufacturer on an exciting internal project.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled hands‑on technician to work on complex electro-mechanical products within a modern manufacturing environment. The role offers varied and interesting work, the chance to support prototype development and genuine long-term opportunities for the right individual.

As an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the build, assembly, testing and fault‑finding of complex electro‑mechanical products.
Working from engineering drawings and technical documentation, you will support prototype builds, first‑off assemblies and manufacturing projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Building complex electro‑mechanical assemblies
- Manufacturing wiring looms and cable assemblies
- Prototype and first‑off product builds
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
- Testing and inspecting completed assemblies
- Fault‑finding and diagnosing assembly issues
- Soldering electrical components
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Machining and modifying cabinets and enclosures
- Assisting with installations and repair work when required
- Supporting continuous improvement and manufacturing projects
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within:
- Electro‑mechanical assembly
- Electrical assembly
- Mechanical assembly
- Manufacturing or production engineering environments
- Wiring and loom assembly
- Fault‑finding and testing
- Engineering build or prototype work
You will also:
- Be confident using hand and power tools
- Be technically minded and quality focused
- Be able to read technical drawings and documentation
- Have strong problem‑solving skills
- Be capable of working independently and using your own initiative
This Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician role could be suitable for candidates who have previously worked as:
Electrical Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Wiring Technician, Panel Wirer, Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Prototype Technician, Assembly Technician, Electro-Mechanical Build Technician, Test Technician, Engineering Technician or Assembly Operative within an engineering environment.
