Part-Time Laboratory Technician (Toxicology – Urine Testing)
Journey to Wellness is a substance abuse and addiction treatment facility dedicated to helping individuals overcome challenges related to alcohol and drug addiction, non-substance-related addictive behaviors, and emotional trauma. We operate on-site POL laboratory for toxicology testing.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Certified Laboratory Technician with moderate experience in toxicology or clinical laboratory testing to join our team. The technician will be responsible for processing and analyzing urine samples for toxicology screening in compliance with all regulatory standards. This is a part-time position (20–24 hours/week) with a flexible schedule, ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking steady part-time work in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, log, and prepare urine samples for toxicology analysis.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures and testing according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including basic troubleshooting.
- Follow all quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy of results.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of testing, results, and sample chain-of-custody.
- Comply with all safety protocols, HIPAA, CLIA, and state/federal laboratory regulations.
- Collaborate with lab manager to ensure timely reporting of results.
- Assist with maintaining lab supplies and inventory as needed.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
- Current laboratory certification required (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent).
- 2+ years of experience working in a clinical, diagnostic, or toxicology laboratory.
- Familiarity with toxicology testing (urinalysis preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data entry.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Part-time: 20–24 hours per week.
