Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen (CCDOM), a non‑profit social services agency that serves more than 68,000 clients per year across Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren counties in NJ, offers this position in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Role Overview

The Triple P Practitioner will deliver the Triple P Curriculum to parents and caregivers of youth ages 0‑12. Sessions are conducted in the home or community, either individually (Standard) or in group. The practitioner will complete assessments, collaborate with the Care Manager, and communicate regularly with DCP&P.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Services to Families:

  • Maintain a caseload of up to 8 families receiving Triple P Standard at any time.
  • Facilitate group sessions with 8‑12 parents per group, three times per year.
  • Schedule and complete all required weekly sessions flexibly, prioritizing family availability.
  • Collaborate with families and establish therapeutic rapport.
  • Create a safe communication milieu in group settings.

Team Work:

  • Collaborate closely with DCP&P staff and referred families to achieve goals and meet DCP&P planning requirements.
  • Work with the Care Manager to connect families to community resources and support linkage.
  • Promote Triple P services in community parenting and early‑childhood organizations.
  • Attend regular conferences with the Supervisor and Care Manager.
  • Function effectively as a team member and independently.

Professional Development:

  • Complete Positive Parenting Program training and other agency trainings.
  • Earn and maintain practitioner accreditation.
  • Participate in supervisory practices that uphold fidelity (e.g., Reflective Supervision).
  • Deliver services while engaging in coaching and training as required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Triple P series and parenting education benefits.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Conduct initial needs assessments and safety evaluations for parents and caregivers.
  • Create Family Service Plans to guide goal planning.
  • Complete Triple P session checklists for program fidelity.
  • Maintain accurate records and update agency and Triple‑P data systems.
Flexibility / Work Schedule
  • Travel and flexible in‑home or alternate location sessions as needed. Sessions may be scheduled evenings or weekends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and at least 1 year of experience with families experiencing trauma, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, child abuse, or neglect.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate within the child welfare system for caregivers with lived experience.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and sensitivity to at‑risk families ages 0‑12.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage caseload and supervision schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred (pay differential).
