Perth High School

Perth High School is seeking an experienced, highly organised, and motivated School Office Manager to lead our administrative team and ensure the smooth and efficient running of our busy secondary school office.

This is a key leadership role within the school, responsible for managing administrative systems, coordinating operational processes, and leading a team of administrative staff to deliver a high‑quality service to pupils, staff, and parents/carers. You will play a central role in supporting the Senior Leadership Team and ensuring that the school operates effectively.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has proven experience in office or administrative management.
  • Has strong leadership skills and experience managing staff.
  • Excels at organising workloads and managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has strong IT skills.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to high standards.

Perth High School is a large, friendly and welcoming comprehensive, drawing pupils from a mix of Perth City and rural Perthshire. We are an ambitious school undergoing a significant period of change after completing an exciting move to our state‑of‑the‑art Passivhaus standard building.

Key Responsibilities Leadership and People Management
  • Lead, supervise and support the school's administrative team, ensuring high performance and a positive working culture.
  • Allocate workloads effectively, ensuring tasks are prioritised and completed to a high standard.
  • Manage staff development, performance and wellbeing, including conducting PRD reviews.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for administrative issues and resolve these professionally.
Operational and Task Management
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the school office, ensuring efficient systems and processes.
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines, including pupil data, attendance and reporting cycles.
  • Ensure accurate and secure management of school records using systems such as SEEMIS.
  • Continuously review and improve administrative processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage complex student data relating to attendance, behaviour and attainment.
  • Manage financial administration following PKC Financial Guidance.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a key point of contact for parents/carers, pupils, staff and external agencies.
  • Ensure clear, professional communication across all school channels.
  • Coordinate school events such as parents' evenings, options processes and transition activities (P7–S1).

There is an expectation of this post to be Emergency First Aid trained – training will be provided.
