Collace Primary School, Perth
This is an exciting opportunity to join our happy team at Collace Primary School as a School Support Assistant.
The successful applicant will support the day-to-day running of the school under the direction of the Head Teacher.
You will be required to provide a full range of efficient and effective clerical support and help ensure a proactive support service is provided to the school.
You will accurately prepare and present routine correspondence, including reports, as required.
With minimum supervision, you will be required to carry out a wide range of routine clerical duties associated with a busy office environment, including filing, photocopying, and scheduling appointments or meetings for others.
The role will also involve the co-ordination and administration of school activities and events, including outings, visits, sports events, open days and other recreational activities, arranging transport where applicable.
Pupil welfare will form part of this role, including the administration of medication and first aid, for which training will be provided.
The work pattern can be negotiated.

Skills & Experience RequiredExperience in dealing with the public and the ability to work with minimum supervision is essential. You must have a pleasant manner, an aptitude for PC work and a good understanding of office procedures. It is desirable that you have experience of working in a clerical role within an office environment.
It is also essential that you have knowledge of common IT systems, including databases and Microsoft Office, together with effective customer service, organisational and time management skills. Knowledge of financial record keeping and procedures is desirable.
The individual appointed will be able to listen to, and be responsive to, a range of requirements, demonstrating the skills, qualities and enthusiasm to further develop and build on the existing high standards within our school. The successful candidate will be committed to continually enhancing their knowledge and skills through collegiate working and continuous professional development (CPD).
Requirements
- You must be able to use ICT, including Word and Excel, for a variety of purposes.
- Ideally, you will have experience of using SEEMiS and RRS.
- Ideally, you will have knowledge of Child Protection procedures.
- Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a primary school.
- You must be able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and parents, both verbally and in writing.
- You will have a flexible attitude to sharing duties.
- You must be willing to work both indoors and outdoors.
- You will be committed to the wider life of the school.
