Peripatetic Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People - PKC

Based at 2 High Street, Perth
You will provide peripatetic teaching support, training and advice to deaf children and young people, parents/carers and professionals across Perth & Kinross, in homes and educational settings to enable them to access an inclusive education and thrive.

Skills & Experience RequiredYou must:
- Have or be eligible for, full GTC Scotland registration.
- Have wide experience of learning and teaching preferably in the context of mainstream and specialist education.
- Have, or be willing to undertake, the Postgraduate qualification in Inclusive Education (Deaf Learners).
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant current teaching and learning, curriculum and assessment developments, including the national Curriculum Improvement Cycle and developments from Qualifications Scotland.
- Be skilled in using ICT.
- Be able to apply a variety of teaching strategies, adapted to the needs of deaf children and young people.
- Be able to provide advice and guidance to education staff on issues related to the experiences of deaf children and young people and supporting them to make progress and realise their full potential.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate children and young people and relate positively towards them.
- Have experience of working with children and young people who have an identified level of deafness.
