The Role

This is a development opportunity, recognising that exceptional Technical Trainers can come from a variety of backgrounds. Whether you've gained experience working across the Distribution Network or within a training role in a safety-critical environment, we'll provide the support, training and encouragement you need to thrive.

As a Technical Trainer, you'll work alongside operational colleagues, helping them build capability, confidence and competence through engaging learning experiences, practical assessments and ongoing support.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver engaging technical training and practical assessments that support the development of operational colleagues and contract partners.
  • Help colleagues build confidence, technical competence and safe working practices.
  • Support the ongoing competence and authorisation of our operational workforce through structured learning and assessment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve training materials, ensuring they reflect Operational Safety Rules, procedures and industry best practice.
  • Share your technical expertise by providing guidance, coaching and support on operational procedures.

What We’re Looking For

We're keen to hear from people who can demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • Experience working on or around the Distribution Network, ideally with Category 1-5 Low Voltage Switching authorisations or equivalent operational experience.
  • Experience delivering technical training, coaching, mentoring or assessments within a Distribution or other safety-critical operational environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to build positive and effective working relationships.
You’ll also bring:
  • A strong understanding of safe systems of work and a genuine commitment to creating a safe working environment for others.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • A passion for sharing knowledge and helping people succeed.
