Inch View Primary School, Perth

The Intensive Support Provision (ISP) Class Teacher role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated, skilled and nurturing practitioner to join the team at Inch View Primary School.

This permanent, part-time post (0.62 FTE, working Monday to Wednesday) is based within our Intensive Support Provision, supporting children and young people with complex additional support needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a highly inclusive and engaging curriculum for learners working across Pre-Early Level to Second Level.

You will create a positive, supportive and communication-friendly learning environment that meets a wide range of needs and promotes children's wellbeing, independence, achievement and engagement in learning.

The role involves working closely with support staff, parents/carers and a range of multi-agency partners to ensure that pupils receive the highest quality educational experiences and support.

The successful candidate will lead and contribute to individualised planning and assessment, whilst ensuring that learning experiences are responsive to pupils' strengths, interests and needs.

Skills & Experience Required

We are seeking a positive, reflective and enthusiastic teacher who can demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive education and supporting children with complex additional support needs.

Experience of working with learners who present with a range of additional support needs is desirable, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, social communication difficulties, sensory processing needs and other complex learning needs.

Experience with in either specialist or mainstream settings will be considered.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive practice and approaches to meeting diverse learner needs.
  • Have experience of planning, delivering and assessing learning across a wide range of developmental stages and curriculum levels.
  • Be skilled in creating nurturing, structured and communication-friendly learning environments.
  • Have experience of using visual supports, sensory strategies and alternative communication approaches, including Makaton.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, creativity and resilience when responding to the individual needs of learners.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and lead support staff within the classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Show a commitment to ongoing professional learning and continuous professional development.
