For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Inverness, Aberdeen or Perth.
Salary:£50,100 - £75,100 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The roleSSEN Transmission has an opportunity for a Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) Advisor to join the SHW Team. Working primarily with projects in the design and planning phase you support safety in design and preliminary/advanced construction works, such as Site Survey, Ground Investigation, Public Road Improvement, Site Clearance, etc.
Responsibilities- Provide proactive and pragmatic SHW & CDM advice to our various stakeholders and projects, primarily in the design/planning/pre-construction phase.
- Encourage the development and maintenance of Designer Risk Assessment with Design Risk Management processes being implemented and recorded.
- Assist those appointed to carry out the duties of Client, Principal Designer and Designer to comply with CDM and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) procedures. This will also include developing the Pre-Construction Information and confirming it is provided to the Principal Contractor or Contractor as appropriate.
- Work with the project teams during the Pre-Construction/Advanced Works phase to ensure appropriate strategies are in place to effectively manage the coordination of ongoing design work during construction.
- Complete a variety of assurance activities on and off site, ensure appropriate incident reporting and management and embody our vision to create a healthy, happy and safe workplace for our people by continuously striving to improve and focusing on positive outcomes.
- Experience of construction project SHW aspects and CDM regulations preferably in the design and planning phase and with a qualification in SHW or related discipline.
- Experience working with safety management system policies and strategies within an asset-intensive engineering environment.
- Detailed knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques including demonstrable experience of the application of ALARP.
- Ability to determine the degree of statutory compliance and anticipate the potential impact of new legislation. Familiarity with the UK Regulatory and Business Environment.
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills to drive cross-business collaboration.
