Head of Financial Planning

I am working with a well-established, multi-site organisation undergoing a significant phase of finance transformation and capability building. As part of a wider evolution of the finance function, they are now hiring a Head of FP&A to lead all aspects of commercial finance, insight, forecasting and performance management.

This is a high-impact role sitting close to the Finance Director and wider leadership team, responsible for turning financial data into meaningful insight that drives decision-making, performance improvement and strategic direction.

You will lead the FP&A and commercial finance agenda across the business, building a best-in-class insight function that supports both operational and strategic decision-making.

• Ownership of budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
• Development of high-quality financial models and scenario planning capability
• Delivery of clear, actionable insight to support commercial and operational decisions
• Performance analysis across revenue, margin, cost base and investment decisions
• Development of KPI frameworks and management reporting that drives accountability
• Business partnering with operational and functional leaders across the organisation
• Support for investment cases, strategic initiatives and capital allocation decisions
• Continuous improvement of forecasting accuracy, planning processes and analytical tools
• Collaboration with Financial Control to ensure consistency between actuals and forecast
• Contribution to wider finance transformation and improved decision-support capability

We are looking for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, strategy and operations.

• Strong background in FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering leadership roles
• Experience building or improving forecasting, budgeting and planning processes
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insight
• Strong modelling capability and analytical skillset
• Experience working in a multi-site or complex operational environment
• Confident communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and non-finance leaders
• Track record of improving decision-making through better financial insight
