Company Accountant

Jenson Fisher is delighted to be retained by a long-established and highly respected commercial SME based in Perth to recruit a Company Accountant.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and fast-paced business with a strong reputation in its sector. Reporting directly to senior management, the successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function, providing accurate financial information and commercial insight to support business decision-making. The role would suit an experienced accountant who enjoys working within an SME environment and thrives in a hands‑on position where no two days are the same.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated reporting
• Managing the day-to-day finance function, including purchase and sales ledger oversight
• Bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and treasury management
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Managing month-end and year-end processes
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and professional advisers
• Budget preparation and monitoring against performance
• Producing financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making
• Maintaining and improving financial controls and processes
• Supporting wider business operations with commercial and financial insight

• Previous experience in a Company Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar senior finance position
• Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA, ACA) or qualified by experience
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• A proactive and commercially minded approach
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business
• Experience working within a fast‑paced SME environment would be highly advantageous
• Strong systems skills, including proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
