The roleAn exciting and high-impact opportunity at the heart of SSEN’s ED3 Business Plan development. This is a critical SSE Group priority that will shape our regulatory funding, investment strategy, and delivery commitments for the next price control period.
This role plays a key part in analysing and solving complex financial and regulatory challenges, developing robust recommendations that inform both business planning processes and wider regulatory strategy. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, translating intricate financial analysis into clear, concise insights for a range of senior internal stakeholders and external audiences, including the regulator.
Working across multiple business areas, the role will build strong, trusted relationships to influence outcomes, ensure alignment, and support the delivery of a credible, high-quality Business Plan. The ability to distil complexity into compelling narratives will be critical to driving decision-making and ensuring stakeholder confidence.
You willSupport the development and assurance of our ED3 Business Plan by combining cost assessment analysis, financial input, efficiency assessment, and regulatory strategy support. The role will help ensure the plan is robust, evidence-based, and responsive to external challenge.
- Provide complex financial and analytical support and consider risk and regulatory challenge
- Develop internal modelling to demonstrate financial impacts of strategy decisions
- Lead on and review financial contributions
- Support our ED3 efficiency strategy implementation
- Develop materials and analysis to support cost assessment engagement with the regulator
- Strong recent quantitative and financial or econometric analysis skills
- Regulatory submission or business planning experience
- Understanding of efficiency and cost assessment frameworks
- Document drafting and analytical writing skills
- Ability to engage and influence effectively with internal and external stakeholders
