Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join SSE as a senior Finance Business Partner supporting our IT function. Working closely with senior leaders across IT and Finance, you'll provide valuable insight, challenge and support to help shape strategic decisions and drive business performance.

You'll play a key role in building trusted relationships, enabling informed investment decisions, maintaining strong financial control, and helping to embed effective, forward-thinking financial processes. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll influence across a broad stakeholder group while contributing to a supportive, inclusive and continuously improving culture.

You will
  • Deliver clear, insightful financial analysis and commentary to support IT and Finance leadership in making informed decisions.
  • Identify financial risks, opportunities and emerging pressures, working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop effective action plans.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of investment opportunities, including business case development, governance sign-off and benefits realisation.
  • Develop and maintain a trusted IT performance scorecard, bringing together both financial and operational measures to support decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial planning, reporting and management information processes.
You have
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a business partnering environment.
  • Proven experience in finance business partnering, ideally gained within IT or a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing cost bases, evaluating investments and tracking benefits realisation.
  • Experience developing and enhancing financial processes, controls and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and support senior stakeholders in a constructive and collaborative way.
