If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Assessment Assistant to join the Assessment & Charging Team.
This role involves working closely with vulnerable citizens, their representatives, care providers, and partner organisations to ensure individuals are charged correctly for the care and support services they receive.
As part of the role, you will support the administration of financial assessments, carry out calculations in line with legislation and local policy, and maintain accurate records using financial and case management systems. You will also be responsible for processing payments to care providers, resolving invoice queries, liaising with external providers and internal stakeholders, and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
The successful candidate will also support income collection activities, including monitoring outstanding balances, undertaking debt recovery actions in accordance with Council procedures, and helping customers to manage and maintain their accounts.
This is a varied and rewarding position that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

You will bring a flexible approach to work along with a willingness to learn new things as you can also be involved in other areas within the team.
You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a person-centred approach, a good sense of humour and importantly have a proactive get up and go attitude.
Due to the team working hybrid, support will be provided however, you will need to be self-motivated and be able to identify when additional support is required.

Skills & Experience Required

You will ideally have experience of working with financial and case management systems, accurately maintaining, and updating records for large volumes of client information.

Experience in processing invoices and payments for care providers, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy, would be advantageous
