Pharmacy Support Worker

Permanent / Full Time / Part Time – An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Support Worker who is keen to develop new skills and broaden their experience to join our developing pharmacy team within Prison Healthcare and GP Out of Hours Service. The post holder will be based in the Health Centre at HMP Perth, with commitments to HMP Castle Huntly, HMP Bella CCU, and GP Out of Hours Service in Dundee and Perth.

The role of the Pharmacy Support Worker is to assist with the accurate and timely processing and supply of medicines within the services, participate in the control and distribution of medicines, and the ordering and invoicing of medicines. The post holder will ensure quality of service and efficient management of all prescribed, non-prescribed and sundry supplies.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work: 36 hours.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to establish and maintain relationships in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be able to work on a shift basis as part of the multidisciplinary team (weekend rota).
  • The ability to adapt to change and meet tight deadlines.
  • NVQ in Pharmacy Services level 2 or equivalent accredited qualification to meet the regulation requirement of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
