Psychologist – Core CAMHS (Tier 3 Mental Health)

We are delighted to recruit a suitably qualified psychologist to join Children and Young Peoples Psychological Services (CYP‑PT) within NHS Forth Valley CAMHS. We seek enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologists and welcome applications from candidates nearing qualification, part‑time workers and those interested in split posts.
NHS Forth Valley CAMHS is a well‑established service with a responsive and innovative senior management team. The psychology team is organised into sub‑specialities with psychological leadership and specialist clinical supervision within each area of expertise. We offer multiple therapeutic modalities including CBT, IPT, FBT, Systemic Family Therapy, ABA, EMDR, Art Therapy and ACT, which are professionally governed by Psychological Services, NHS Forth Valley.
We support children and young people aged from 0 to 18 years and their carers/families and offer a range of highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions, often involving multi‑agency work with our partners. The post holder will play a key role in offering clinical leadership and supervising and delivering specialist psychological care to increase access to psychological interventions locally, with opportunities to get involved in quality improvement.
Required experience and qualifications:
- Post‑Graduate Doctoral level (or equivalent) degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology.
- Registered with the HCPC.
- Experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.
- Experience or training in eating disorders, neuro‑developmental disorders or trauma is an advantage.
Additional responsibilities:
- Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
- Participate in clinical and operational supervision, supportive line management, and job planning.
- Develop and establish specialist clinical interests as part of in‑house CPD programme.
- Engage with national bodies and training courses, including providing placements to trainees from Doctoral, PIAT and MSc courses.
Work hours and terms (as of 1/4/26): the full‑time Agenda for Change working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
Certificate of Sponsorship: NHS Forth Valley may offer sponsorship for certain roles where the post meets the minimum salary threshold and other criteria. Sponsorship is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre‑employment checks.
