Community Link Workers aim to improve health and wellbeing by helping people to make informed choices, build confidence, learn new skills, meet new people and make new friends, and connect with their community.
This includes supporting individuals to take part in social activities, join community groups or clubs, and meet new people and have fun.
The role also involves connecting people to emotional support and practical help, such as accessing resources for housing, employment or financial support.
As well as improving a person’s quality of life, the role involves working with frontline statutory workers such as Social Workers, District Nurses, Occupational Therapists, CPNs and GPs, keeping them informed of available community-based support.
