To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Engineering Technologists for the post of Specialist Clinical Mechanical Engineering Technologist within the Clinical Engineering Section of the Medical Physics Department, NHS Tayside.

Candidates should possess a BEng/BSc in an appropriate engineering discipline, preferably supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications. Consideration will also be given to candidates holding an HNC/HND in a relevant technical engineering subject together with significant experience in medical equipment lifecycle management and repair within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment. The Mechanical Technical Section supports a broad range of diagnostic, therapeutic, dental, respiratory, laboratory and community-based medical equipment used throughout acute, primary care and community healthcare settings. The successful candidate will provide a technical specialist and supervisory function within a team of Clinical Engineering staff, ensuring the effective prioritisation and delivery of specialist maintenance and medical equipment management services. The role will involve providing expert technical advice, guidance and mentorship to Clinical Engineering Technologists, supporting the procurement, installation, acceptance testing, servicing, repair, user training, decommissioning and disposal of medical equipment across NHS Tayside.
