We are currently recruiting a motivated and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our client in Scotland, based around Perth. This is a permanent, field-based role that involves travelling between customer sites to provide installation, maintenance, and repair services for retail weighing and food preparation equipment. While you will be part of a supportive team, this role involves working independently at customer sites within your designated territory.
MainDuties & Responsibilities
- Provide breakdown support, preventative maintenance, and software upgrades for retail weighing and food preparation equipment at customer sites.
- Carry out installations of weighing and food preparation equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records (paper-based and/or electronic) to support contract profitability and productivity tracking.
- Ensure all associated paperwork and timesheets are completed accurately and in line with company policies and standards.
- Operate company-issued mobile phone and laptop systems in accordance with company procedures.
- Manage and order spare parts stock effectively to achieve a high level of first-time fixes.
- Ensure all stock and spare parts are securely stored, quality-checked, and signed for according to company guidelines.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities and chargeable work within your territory, contributing to the company's financial performance.
- Pass on potential business opportunities to approved dealers.
- Deliver the highest standards of customer satisfaction at all times.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
- Ability to travel regularly within Scotland.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing between 3.5kg and 30kg.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills and confidence using laptops and mobile systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in servicing or maintaining retail weighing or food preparation equipment would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
