We recently completed a significant multi‑million‑pound development programme to expand and upgrade the site, so now is an exciting time to come and work here. We are looking for a dayshift cleaner to join our hygiene team to ensure that the production areas, amenities and outside areas are cleaned in accordance with company operating practices and schedules in order to maintain a food‑safe environment for the production of company products during the daily production schedule.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures for completion of hygiene tasks on a daily basis.
- Clean the changing and amenities areas on an ongoing daily basis according to the cleaning schedules.
- Issue out the relevant overalls to staff by restocking the laundry lockers and collecting the soiled garments for collection.
- Ensure that chemicals are used safely and correctly according to manufacturer instructions and recommendations.
- Work as a team with other dayshift cleaners to ensure the factory is clean and tidy throughout the day.
- Ensure all equipment is used and stored correctly.
- Ensure any cleaning is undertaken safely, with regards to chemicals, protective clothing or high‑level work.
- Comply with departmental procedures in a correct and safe manner at all times.
- Comply with company rules and statutory regulations at all times.
- Comply with company policy on all matters concerning health & safety and hygiene at all times.
- Identify training needs and opportunities and bring them to the attention of the Cleaning Department Supervisor.
- Any other reasonable duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
- Experience in a fast‑paced working environment.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use initiative.
- Knowledge of chemicals and machinery which is used in the clean‑down process.
- Understanding of environmental requirements and responsibilities.
Monday to Friday, starting m and finishing m, working 40 hours per week. Pay rate £13.20 per hour.
