Forklift Operator

My client a large international manufacturing company has a vacancy for a Forklift Operator working within their cold stores at their Perth location

The main function of a Forklift Operator is to carry out the production process by closely following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instruction Documents and blueprints or drawings as they relate to assembly, materials handling, equipment operation, and finished goods packaging.

Monday to Friday = 8:00am - 4:30pm = 40 hours per week
Temporary to permanent assignment
Pay Rate £13.20 per hour
Forklift and stores/warehouse experience is essential

Key Responsibilities

* Follow and maintain the standards in your operating area for safety, quality, appearance, operating systems.

* Use of SAP to check stock and completion of customer orders within the pick and pack operation

* Take responsibility for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of others working in the area.

* Picking and packing of UK and export orders with minimal supervision.

* Picking and presentation of Raw Material and Packaging material for Production Departments

Working Conditions

* Works in a warehouse environment and is required to work in varying temperatures. Up to 60% of time in cold room temperatures down to 2oC.

* Lifting items up to but not limited to 7.5 kgs from ankle to hip height and from head height to hip height

* Walk and stand for 4 hours at a time, up to 12 hours a day, with frequent squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting at waist.

* Push or pull products on a picking cart, weight of up to 125kg to push and 125kg to pull.

* Push pallet trucks with weight up to 500kg

* Working outside when loading trucks

* Repetitive work dictated by machinery
