Recycling Operative

This energetic position involves hands-on work in sorting, handling, and preparing recyclable materials, ensuring smooth operations within our recycling facility. You'll be part of a motivated team dedicated to reducing waste and conserving resources while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

This paid role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills and contribute positively to environmental efforts. Shifts - 4 on 4 off rotating on days and backshift. Responsibilities Operate machinery and equipment used for sorting, crushing, or compacting recyclable materials with precision and safety. Perform heavy lifting tasks to move, load, or unload recyclable items throughout the facility. Conduct routine inspections of recycling lines and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards are met.

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area to promote a safe working environment. Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with the identification and separation of different types of recyclable materials to facilitate efficient processing. Support team members during busy periods by sharing responsibilities and maintaining a positive, energetic attitude.

Requirements Previous mechanical knowledge or experience operating industrial machinery is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively as part of daily tasks. Physically fit with the stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures at all times.

Willingness to learn new skills related to recycling processes and equipment operation. A proactive approach with excellent teamwork skills to contribute positively within a fast-paced environment.
