Quality Engineer

State of the art manufacturing facility based near Newark and conveniently located adjacent to A1.

Location:

Carlton-on-Trent. NG23 6NT

Hours:

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday: 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM (Early Friday Finish)

About the Role

Join the JRL Modular Quality Team as our Quality Engineer. You’ll be the person who champions quality across the business — helping us improve how we work, supporting our teams, and making sure we get things right first time. You’ll ensure our products meet high standards and deliver exactly what our customers expect.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and maintain clear, reliable quality processes across all operations
  • Put checks in place during manufacturing, look at performance data, and suggest ways to do things better
  • Create and run quality checks and tests as we introduce new products
  • Carry out regular quality reviews and audits
  • Plan and run tests to spot and fix any product issues
  • Guide and support team members on quality matters and projects
  • Work closely with production, design, and customer teams to solve problems quickly and effectively
  • Keep all quality records and documentation up to date and easy to follow
What We’re Looking For:
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in quality engineering
  • Degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a similar subject
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge or formal training in quality methods, Lean Six Sigma, or similar standards
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to solve problems logically
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Confidence to lead, guide, and influence others
  • Able to manage several tasks at once and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with common quality processes including NPI, FMEA, SPC, and APQP
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Self‑motivated and able to work on your own initiative
  • Experience using Field View software
  • Experience working directly with customers
