HSW Advisor

Are you a NEBOSH-qualified Health & Safety Advisor with utilities or water industry experience?
Do you thrive in a hands‑on role carrying out site inspections, audits and supporting teams on live projects?

Location:

Perth/Dundee (covering sites across Scotland). Salary: £42,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance. Job Type: Permanent.

• Provide competent Health & Safety advice and support to operational teams across multiple sites.
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and workplace assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and engagement with site personnel.
• Support incident investigations, producing reports and ensuring lessons learned are communicated across the business.
• Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, company policies and client requirements.
• Assist with the development and review of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Monitor Health & Safety performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
• Liaise with managers, clients and subcontractors to maintain high standards of Health & Safety performance.
• Support internal and external audits where required.

• Experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within utilities, ideally the water industry.
• A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
• A valid CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and supporting operational teams on live construction or utilities projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while managing a regional workload across Scotland.

• Previous experience within the water sector.
• Experience with in wider utilities or energy infrastructure.
• Experience delivering Health & Safety training.
• ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification.
• Membership of IOSH (or working towards).
