Looking for a role where you can keep active, meet new people and make a real difference.
We're looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Drivers Mate / Retail Collection Assistant to join our retail team based at our Sense Scotland Charity Shop in Perth.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a small, supportive team that helps generate vital income to support the people who use Sense Scotland services across the country. Every donation collected and delivered helps make a difference.
Whether you're experienced in retail or logistics, or simply enjoy helping others and getting stuck in, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note and consider before applying;
- Driving licence is not a requirement for this role
- We do NOT currently offer visa sponsorship for our vacancies and would therefore ask that you do not apply if you require sponsorship.
As a Drivers Mate, you'll work alongside our Retail Driver to collect and deliver donated goods, including furniture and larger household items, to and from our charity shops and donors' homes.
No two days are the same. One day you could be helping collect a donated sofa, the next you could be delivering stock to another shop or supporting volunteers with retail activities.
You'll play an important role in ensuring donations are handled with care, providing great customer service, and acting as a positive ambassador for Sense Scotland wherever you go.
Hours of work- 2 days per week - 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Some flexibility may be required to support the needs of the retail operation
- Supporting the collection and delivery of donated goods and furniture.
- Loading, unloading and safely handling stock.
- Helping ensure donated items arrive in good condition.
- Providing a friendly and professional service to donors, customers and colleagues.
- Supporting volunteers who assist with collection and delivery activities.
- Helping promote Sense Scotland as a charity of choice for donations.
- Working closely with the wider retail team to support our shops across Scotland.
- A positive, friendly and approachable attitude.
- Reliability and good timekeeping.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A willingness to undertake a physically active role involving lifting and moving furniture and other bulky items.
- A flexible approach and willingness to help where needed.
- Experience in retail, warehousing, removals, logistics or customer-facing roles would be beneficial, but is not essential.
At Sense Scotland, you'll be joining an organisation that is passionate about making a difference. You'll be part of a welcoming team, enjoy a varied role, and have the satisfaction of knowing your work directly supports people with complex communication support needs across Scotland.
If you're reliable, enjoy working with people and are ready for a rewarding role where every day is different, we'd love to hear from you.
