Expected pay for this position is $39.13 - $51.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position.
OverviewThis is a PRN position.
Position SummaryThe Cardiac Sonographer II follows established policies, procedures, and performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests independently as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonography in one patient population (Adult, Pediatric, Fetal). Obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease. Ensures echocardiogram exams are of acceptable quality and records results. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Education:
- Associate in allied health that is patient care related or bachelor's degree (any major) OR Completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program.
Experience:
- 1 year experience in transthoracic echocardiology
Other
Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in 1 patient population (Adult, Pediatrics, Fetal).
Other Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
- Knowledge of echocardiology techniques and skills to independently perform transthoracic echocardiogram procedures in one patient population.
- Requires analytical ability to recognize anatomic abnormalities, adjust equipment settings to appropriately target the ultrasound and identify irregularities during ultrasound and notify appropriate personnel.
- Associate's degree in applied science Diagnostic Services
