Blue Marble in Latin AmericaIn Latin America, we address the financial vulnerability of smallholder farmers and other underserved communities by providing affordable protection against extreme weather and other climate-related risks. We currently operate in Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Guatemala, and Brazil, with the goal of scaling our successful models throughout the region.
About the roleReporting to the Head of Latin America, the Operations Manager Latin America – Peru will lead operational execution and delivery of Blue Marble programs in Peru and other assigned markets. This role is highly hands-on, requiring frequent travel within Peru and across Latin America (up to 30% of the time). The Operations Manager will focus on coordinating program activities, ensuring operational excellence, managing field engagements, and maintaining strong relationships with local stakeholders, partners, and clients.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the day-to-day operational activities of programs in Peru, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and objectives.
- Manage field operations including trainings, workshops, and stakeholder meetings with cooperatives, farmers’ groups, implementing partners, and local authorities.
- Support product roll-out, client onboarding, claims processes, and ongoing servicing activities.
- Monitor program performance, collect and analyze field data, and provide operational feedback to improve efficiency and impact.
- Maintain relationships with local insurance partners, distribution partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of operational reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure compliance with operational, contractual, and regulatory requirements in Peru.
- Collaborate with the Head of Latin America and other regional managers to share best practices and align processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural engineering, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant operational experience in insurance, finance, agribusiness, or development projects.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 30% of the time) within Peru and across Latin America.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a hands-on approach to operations.
- Passion for social impact, climate risk management and serving underserved communities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
