GENERAL

SUMMARY:

The Sales Associate is the primary point of contact for customers and helps maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases, collect payment and make change
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and set up sidewalk displays
• Stock merchandise, recover merchandise, unpack, restock, rotate on shelves, build displays
• Assist customers with merchandise as necessary

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Understanding of safety policies and practices
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to perform cash register functions and stock merchandise

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping and kneeling
• Handling merchandise, scanners, equipment (pricing guns, box cutters, containers, dollies, rolltainers)
• Frequent lifting up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting up to 55 pounds
• Occasional climbing of steps up to 6 feet
• Fast‑paced environment with moderate noise
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
