Opportunity

WSP is looking for a Senior Vice President, Environmental Remediation Engineer for our California offices (Oakland, Rancho Cordova, Roseville, Petaluma, San Jose, Fresno, Costa Mesa, and San Diego). The successful candidate will have consulting, selling, managing, designing and implementing Environmental Multi-media Remediation programs for a variety of clients in the Industrial, Government, Energy, Oil & Gas and Transportation sectors. The role is a key part of our effort to expand WSP’s environmental consulting business across California and the West.

Impact
  • Perform Business Development within the Oil & Gas and Industrial/Commercial sectors for environmental remediation, engineering and related services.
  • Lead Customer Care responsibilities for at least one Oil & Gas or Industrial/Commercial client.
  • Design, oversee, mentor and direct the efforts of staff‑ and project‑level engineers.
  • Assist preparation of technical reports and proposals.
  • Collaborate with Service Line Leader, Sector Lead, other Principal and Senior‑level employees in the office and firm‑wide.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved.
  • Travel to projects as needed for execution of project goals and business development.
  • Meet sales, revenue and delivery goals.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • BS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Geological or related Engineering field.
  • Consulting experience with petroleum contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater, including free floating products (LNAPL) and/or chlorinated solvent contamination remediation.
  • 15+ years related environmental remediation and sales experience in California, with direct client account management.
  • California (Civil) Professional Engineer’s License.
  • Strong work ethic, self‑starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Project and Program Management experience.
  • Experience with remediation/assessment projects involving the Regional Quality Water Quality Control Board, DTSC and/or one of the local CUPAs.
  • Ability to mentor and direct engineers and technicians.
  • Consulting experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board and other CalEPA Programs.
  • Experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues.
  • Developing and managing complex engineering design and design‑build projects.
  • Oversee remedy construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 40‑Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR ) preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Compensation

Expected Salary (California): $220,000–$303,000.
