Production Control Clerk II – AV

The Production Control Clerk II performs clerical tasks in the production control function, coordinating and controlling work orders released to Production and managing goods moving between Production and other departments. This role requires a detail‑oriented individual who can handle routine and moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and alleviate identified work order part shortages by working closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Production Planners.
  • Update and prioritize the work board in the production area, coordinating with production planners.
  • Proactively monitor and expedite identified shortage parts that are in ‘inspection’ status through quality, stockroom, and onto work orders waiting for shortage parts.
  • Assist production leads in moving urgent product from one cell to another or through the stockroom.
  • Issue items in a timely manner to work orders that are being collected and processed in the sell‑off area.
  • Notify planners promptly of rejected, identified shortage parts, or rejected production builds.
  • Work with Quality to ensure identified shortage parts do not sit in SMRB for an excessively long period.
  • Follow established procedures on routine work and request instruction on new assignments when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a production environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with MRP systems, material planning, inventory control, and generation/maintenance of work orders.
  • Knowledge of computerized MRP systems is critical.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Any APICS training and/or certification is desirable, especially as it pertains to inventory control and material planning.
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Strong computer operation skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and a sense of urgency to meet schedule.
  • Ability to work with minimal daily instruction and adapt to new assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and formulate and execute alternative plans when needed.
  • Focus on teamwork and collaboration, putting the success of the team above personal interests.
Physical Demands
  • Work in a manufacturing environment continuously.
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; use hands, fingers, keyboard, and telephone.
  • Frequently lift/carry objects 2–5 lbs.
  • Frequently use hand‑to‑finger tasks, handle tools, or controls and balance.
  • Occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Require specific vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Clearance Level

Salary Range

$19 – $27 per hour.

ITAR Requirements

This position requires access to information subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
