American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager for an acute care case management/utilization review role requiring Epic experience and prior travel assignment experience.
Requirements- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered upon screening
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
- Case Management/Utilization Review unit within an acute hospital setting
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, admission criteria review, and utilization review using Inter Qual criteria
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Requires floating between two facilities located about 30 minutes apart, with varying weekly distribution of days at each location
- Every other weekend required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Perform care coordination, discharge planning, admission criteria review, and utilization review duties using Inter Qual criteria
- Familiarity with CMS and HIPAA regulatory guidelines expected
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible at the local candidate rate
- All requested time off must be submitted upfront at the time of application
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
