Accountant (18 Month Contract with Benefits)

Tasks cover a broad spectrum relating to general accounting, supporting year‑end audit, planning and analysis, controllership, and various projects depending on workload and timing. Specific task examples include variance analysis, month‑end reporting, job cost administration, transactional support of Accounts Payable & Receiving, transactional support for time entry, and improvement/digitization projects.

• Processes and reconciles all vendor related invoices.
• Assists in coordinating bi‑weekly payment runs.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating vendor supply list as needed.
• Prepares and maintains month‑end journal entry checklist.
• Prepares and posts month‑end journal entries.
• Assists in development and communication of annual budget and forecast.
• Monitors and reconciles general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Analyzes general accounts and identifies, recommends or prepares journal entries/accruals as required.
• Assists with the annual financial audit as required.
• Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service.
• Liaison with all BWXT intercompany sites as required.

• Degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a General Accounting or similar role.
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence decisions and interact with all levels of management.
• Ability to produce high‑quality work product in a time‑sensitive fashion.
• Ability to work independently and multi‑task.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $45,000.00 and $64,000.00 per year. Other compensation elements may include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits, as detailed in offer documents.
