The Plant Manager will lead the Peterborough Fuel Assembly Plant & Target Delivery Manufacturing, and Brampton Precision Manufacturing Plant in achieving strategic business goals, driving operational excellence across production, quality, safety, financials, and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director, Fuel Manufacturing, the Plant Manager oversees the Production Supervisor, Process Engineering, and Maintenance teams, with dotted-line accountability for EHS and Quality functions.
This role leverages extensive experience overseeing critical programs and processes to resolve complex issues, develop strategic objectives, and drive both short-term and long-term success. A key responsibility is fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all operational areas.

This position is onsite in Peterborough, Ontario.
Your Day to Day:- Ensure compliance with all health and safety and environmental regulations and internal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear license requirements and regulations.
- Lead site security.
- Ensure safety and quality standards, recognizing that decisions in this area cansignificantly impact employee welfare, product integrity, and overall business success
- Maintain high standards for product quality, meeting customer specifications and audit compliance.
- Oversee and enhance the Peterborough and Brampton Quality Management System for continuous improvement in quality standards.
- Overall accountability for all audit programs and continuous improvement in quality standards.
- Provide strategic oversight for multiple sites, ensuring consistent policies, processes, and quality standards are maintained.
- Develop production line manufacturing plans that align with annual budget objectives.
- Meet master schedule requirements and ensure seamless operations to support customer needs.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between sites to drive operational efficiency and performance.
- Drive financial performance through effective forecasting, budget management, and cost control.
- Make financial decisions to ensure budget compliance.
- Support employee growth and development through goal setting, performance management, and succession planning.
- Foster strong union-management relationships, promote cross-functional collaboration, and partner with HR to foster a high-performance work culture.
- Engage in frequent and complex communications with trade unions, customers, and large groups of employees, effectively managing discussions and resolving issues.
- Oversee resource planning, recruitment, and personnel management, including terminations.
- Drive process engineering to identify and address production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Support capital equipment investments to enhance productivity.
- Use established metrics to ensure performance targets are met and work with Leadership to create new measurements as needed.
- Direct proper implementation of new manufacturing techniques, methods, systems, equipment and facilities to promote continuous process improvement as well as cost reduction and quality enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with uranium accountability requirements for IAEA and CNSC standards.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement through 5-S, visual workplace tools and Cap/Ex projects.
