Summer Ojibwe Language Teacher

Position: Summer Ojibwe Language Teacher Needed
Join the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board as a Summer School Ojibwe Language Teacher in Peterborough, ON. This temporary position focuses on teaching students in Grades 9-12 from June 29 to July 27, 2026.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate teacher for our summer program. You will be responsible for imparting the Ojibwe language to secondary school students in an engaging way, ideal for those with strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Influence young minds positively by embodying the richness of Ojibwe culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct Grade 9-12 students in Ojibwe

• Design and implement culturally relevant lesson plans

• Collaborate with fellow educators for effective teaching

• Create an open and supportive classroom environment

• Evaluate student progress in language comprehension

Requirements:

• Must be certified by the Ontario College of Teachers

• Background check with Vulnerable Sector Search required

• Fluency in Anishinaabemowin/Ojibwe

• Strong commitment to cultural education

• Experience working with secondary students
