Make a difference this summer as a Secondary Ojibwe Language Teacher at Thomas
A. Stewart Secondary School, Peterborough, ON. Engage students from June 29 to July 27, 2026, teaching Anishinaabemowin.
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is hiring a temporary teacher to instruct Ojibwe for Grades 9-12 during summer school. We seek educators who are passionate about Indigenous languages and culture and can work collaboratively with others to foster a creative learning environment. Shape the future by promoting language skills and cultural heritage among students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Ojibwe to secondary school students
• Develop engaging lesson plans based on curriculum
• Collaborate with a team of educators
• Promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere
• Assess and report on student progress
Requirements:
• Must hold Ontario College of Teachers certification
• Current police record check required
• Fluent in both oral and written Ojibwe
• Dedication to teaching Indigenous languages
• Ability to promote student engagement and participation
