Clarington Special Education Support Worker

This position entails 35 hours/week, aiding in the development and implementation of effective strategies that cater to the unique needs of students with behavioral challenges. You will work closely with school administration and resource teams, ensuring the alignment of programs according to established policies and practices. Collaboration with parents and agencies will be essential for supporting transitions and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop preventative strategies for classroom behavior

• Model in-class support for students with behavioral needs

• Gather and monitor data on student behavior

• Facilitate communication with parents through tracking

• Provide targeted training for educational staff

Requirements:

• OSSD along with a Child and Youth Care diploma

• At least one year of relevant experience

• Current BMS certification, First Aid, and CPR

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Must possess a valid driver's license and transportation
