Learning and Programme Coordinator

We're looking for a Learning and Programme Coordinator to join our Arts, Culture, and Lifelong Learning (ACLL) Team and play a key role in delivering impactful learning programmes, maintaining people insights, and supporting organisational capability development.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating programmes, working with data and systems, building strong relationships, and helping create a positive and engaging community experience.

About the role

The role of Programme and Learning Coordinator works across our library and service centre network supporting the delivery of lifelong learning programmes. You will collaborate with dynamic presenters and experts in our community and support our teams and build capacity to ensure we continue to deliver high quality and innovative programmes that meet the needs and interests of our diverse district.

This is a full‑time permanent role, Monday to Friday 830am - 5pm (some late nights and weekend maybe required).

Based at Te Ara Ātea
* in Rolleston.

* While your home base will be as stated above, you will be required from time to time to work from other facilities across the district
- Te Ara Ātea, Lincoln Library and Service Centre, Leeston Library & Service Centre, and Darfield Library & Service Centre.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • 3 to 4 years' experience working in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector and/or the learning sector
  • Proven experience coaching and mentoring individuals and groups
  • A high level of digital literacy, with confidence using a range of digital tools, systems, and platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong creative and critical thinking skills, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
  • A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to uphold its principles in practice

You bring initiative, creativity, and a proactive approach to your work, with the confidence to identify opportunities, solve problems, and introduce new ideas. Experience developing and delivering programmes, combined with a passion for creating engaging learning experiences, will enable you to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
