Catering Technician Learner

Support practical catering learners at City College Peterborough using kitchen expertise, tutorial support, and strong communication skills. This term-time role helps young people progress.

As a Catering Technician, you will support learners studying Catering qualifications in classroom and practical kitchen environments. You will also assist English and Maths development, provide tutorial and pastoral support, and promote wellbeing, confidence, and independence. Working with teaching staff, you will help students overcome barriers and achieve qualifications.

• Support learners during practical catering lessons and kitchen activities
• Deliver or support teaching sessions when required
• Provide one-to-one and small group learning support
• Monitor, support, and record learner progress
• Maintain safe, organised, fully stocked kitchen environments

• Level 2 Catering qualification
• GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or equivalent
• Positive relationship-building skills with young people
• Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
• Tact, patience, empathy, flexibility, and reliability
