Position: Surface Water Program Officer Role
Shape water management strategies at the Surface Water Monitoring Centre as a Surface Water Program Officer. Engage in impactful policy development and monitoring program execution.

As part of the SMWC, you will play a vital role in advancing surface water monitoring practices and policies across Ontario. This position requires technical competence in GIS and hydrometeorology, as well as a strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks. You will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to foster effective water management solutions and address operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop policies for effective water monitoring

• Maintain data management systems and software

• Analyze streamflow and climate data for projects

• Contribute to the development of briefing documents

• Engage in contract administration and financial reporting

Requirements:

• Expertise in GIS and river simulation models

• Familiarity with water management legislation

• Strong administrative and organizational skills

• Competence in analytical problem-solving
