Position: BWXT Nuclear Mechanical Designer Opportunity
Join BWXT in Peterborough, ON as a Mechanical Designer on a 12-month contract focusing on cutting-edge nuclear technology. This role emphasizes design and collaboration with engineering teams.

Reporting to the Design Services Manager at BWXT, your primary responsibilities include developing mechanical systems for CANDU reactors. You will leverage 3D CAD tools to create parts, assemblies, and layouts while ensuring manufacturability and adherence to industry standards. Collaboration with fellow engineers is key as you manage project cost and schedule, and participate in design reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model and draft designs for automated equipment

• Create detail part and assembly drawings

• Support engineering and procurement activities

• Conduct customer meetings for design presentations

• Track and ensure project compliance with schedules

Requirements:

• CET in Mechanical Engineering or related experience

• Familiarity with CAD software like SOLIDWORKS

• Understanding of GD&T and machining practices

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Capability to work with minimal supervision
