Operations Manager

Parts Manager – Peterborough, ONKey Responsibilities- Functional leadership of a multidiscipline team responsible for delivering previously designed, custom manufactured components to support customer maintenance needs.
- Provide strategic leadership for the execution of T Part projects.
- Ensure effective project planning, reporting, timeline and budget control, and achievement of performance metrics.
- Build and maintain customer relationships through regular meetings with key senior staff, resolve conflicts, and negotiate new contracts.
- Lead continual change initiatives to achieve cost reduction, process simplification and foster a positive, productive work environment.
- Establish departmental plans and goals, defining success criteria, risks, activities, deliverables, resource requirements and budgets.
- Conduct staff communication meetings to relay goals, objectives, expectations and general information impacting the function.
- Recruit, develop, retain and train staff, and ensure compliance with external codes, regulations, guidelines and BWXT internal standards.
- Coaching and mentoring staff to achieve best‑in‑class results.
- Prepare and approve estimates and customer proposals for large manufacturing projects in accordance with the Delegation of Authority structure; review and approve customer purchase orders.
- Interface with supply chain and vendors on technical challenges and performance issues.
- Develop pricing strategies with commercial operations for strategic manufacturing bids.
- Conduct facility tours for key suppliers and customers.
- Recommend approaches to meet technical and program requirements.
- Communicate with Design, Quality, Production and Project Management on the technical status of each assigned program.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical degree/diploma in engineering or a related discipline.
- 5years of experience in manufacturing, procurement and/or equivalent work‑related experience.
- Minimum 3years in a leadership position.
- Knowledge or experience with metrology, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T), blueprint reading.
- Demonstrated ability in project planning and execution, including development of procedures and process improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of common non‑destructive examination (NDE) techniques.
- Experience with ASME Code rules for identification and traceability of materials, manufacturing processes, testing, etc.
- Experience with manufacturing of instrumentation and control equipment, PLC systems, cable assemblies, panels and industrial automation; familiarity with wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, instrument calibration.
- Technical writing experience, including procedures, customer proposals and technical reports.
- Experience in cost‑estimating multi‑disciplined equipment and facility projects.
- Experience with Primavera (P6) project scheduling software.
- Base salary range in Ontario: $89,000 to $139,000 per year, subject to local job market factors and candidate qualifications.
